The SWVFA won 4-1, and Thomas played well in wet conditions. Thomas, usually an attacker or midfielder, played some time down in defence and said that it was interesting.

"It was good to give the defense a bit of a try, and I did alright, but I still prefer attack," Thomas said.

"It was good to play in a representative team, and I look forward to the next one."

Thomas's mum, Katelyn, said that it was a good experience.

"Considering it's his first year in competitive soccer, it's a good achievement for Kaden, and it was a good game to watch," Katelyn said.

"It was quite wet and I think all of the kids had a good game. There were a lot of good players and it was a fast-paced game.

"I am very proud of him chasing his dreams."

The SWVFA also had an under11s team, which lost a thriller, 5-4 against the Limestone Coast Development team.
