Thomas, Clugston earn state selection
Giselle Clugston and Ryder Thomas will compete at the School Sport Australia netball championships in July after being selected for the School Victoria teams.
The selection into the girls' under-15 side caps off a stellar 12 months for Clugston, a student at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
Her achievements with the Wimmera representative side at Netball Victoria’s association championships last June led to an invitation to trial for the Netball Victoria Talent Academy.
Clugston, who primarily plays goal attack for Dimboola in the Wimmera Football Netball League, impressed selectors during that tournament.
Clugston was ultimately selected for the Northern Zone Talent Academy, where she will continue training in the lead-up to the Victorian state team trials.
The Dimboola junior also represented Wimmera Mallee at the recent state netball titles and has once again earned selection into the WFNL under-15 representative side for 2026.
Thomas, a Horsham College student, was selected for the under-15 boys' side after an impressive season with the Horsham Demons' under-15 team, which made the grand final.
The ability to play in the goal circle at either end of the court makes Thomas a valuable addition to the state team.
The national championships will be held at Parkville on July 25-31.
