Roos ready to step up
After falling just short in 2024, Olivia Beugelaar and the Dimboola Roos netballers have spent the offseason fine tuning their play and player groups.

The A Grade side made it to the preliminary final, going down to eventual premiers Horsham 48-41.
Beugelaar, who stepped up to coach this season, believes the team has everything needed to make it one step further in 2025.
“I'm so honoured to be able to coach this side,” she said.
“I decided to take it up [the coaching role] because our season finished at the preliminary final; having seen the caliber of talent that we had, I’d be stupid not to take on the role.
“With my experience, I might be able to give the girls a little bit more to get us to that next spot to the grand final.
Beugelaar said playing four full quarters was a focus during the offseason.
“Going off last year, our main thing that we were lacking is fitness,” she said.
“So in training, I've been pushing the girls. We've pretty much been doing full efforts and running every training.”
The Roos welcomed back midcourter Rihanna Keaney, who comes back after having a baby.
“Rihanna played for Kalkee, but she did all her juniors here.
“Otherwise, the side is pretty much exactly the same, apart from Ashlee Morrish, who was our coach from last year.”
