Rainbow will host Beulah this Saturday in round 11 of the North Wimemra Lawn Bowls pennant competition.

The round 11 matchup looks pivotal for Rainbow if they are to keep their chances of reaching the division one finals alive.

Rainbow is currently sixth on the ladder with three wins and seven losses, and meets a Beulah team that is fourth with five wins and five losses.

A win looks necessary to keep Rainbow’s hopes alive, but they will be bolstered by the fact that they defeated Beulah back in round four, where they won two rinks and drew in the other.

The remaining three rounds after this Saturday will not get much easier for Rainbow, as they meet undefeated league leaders Warracknabneal in round 12, fifth-place Murtoa in round 13, and third-place Rupanyup to finish the regular season in round 14.

After round 10, numerous bowlers have stood out for Rainbow and will be crucial in maximising their finals chances.

Ann Thomas and Col Drendel have each been part of four winning rinks, with those rinks having a shot percentage over 100%.

Despite only playing seven games, Rod McLean has contributed to three rink wins, as well as a draw.

Heading into round 11, Warracknabeal (154 points, +377 shots), Warracknabeal Golf White (123, +150), Rupanyup (106, +155), and Beulah (88, +122) currently make up the top four.

Murtoa (52, -64), Rainbow (52, -84), and Hopetoun (49, -215) each have three wins in fifth, sixth, and seventh place, respectively, while Warracknabeal Golf Blue (16, -441) rounds out the ladder.

In other round 11 games this Saturday, Rupanyup will host Murtoa, Warracknabeal Golf White and Warracknabeal face off in a top-of-the-table clash, and Warracknabeal Golf Blue hosts Hopetoun.

In division two, second-placed Beulah hosts fifth-placed Murtoa; third-placed Minyip travels to take on league leaders Warracknabeal; and fourth-placed Brim hosts sixth-placed Hopetoun.
