Nhill secures finals spot
The Wimmera Playing Area division one finals teams are now set after Nhill secured their spot with a win in round 13 on Saturday, January 31.

With Goroke Edenhope losing their matchup against Horsham Golf, Nhill joins Horsham Golf, Horsham City and Dimboola in the finals series, with final positions yet to be decided.
Playing at home against Sunnyside, Nhill won two out of three rinks to overcome Sunnyside 71-64.
Nhill claimed rink one 25-19 as the team of Nicholas Robins, Roger Brown, and Greg Ryan, skippered by Darren Gebert, defeated Barry McIntyre, Rod Skurrie and Rex Bergen, skippered by Dale McRae.
Sunnyside won rink two 24-20 as the team of Lane Hyde, Nigel Zanker and Stuart Cowan, skippered by John Ackland, defeated Nhill’s team of Matthew Morrison, Brad Blackwood and Ryder Byrnes, skippered by Kevin Jones.
Nhill’s rink three team of Ray Olney, Barry Cramer and Ivan Reichelt, skippered by Allan King, won 26-21 over Sunnyside’s Paul Southcott, Roger MacInnes and Chris Trotter, skippered by Gavin Watson.
Horsham Golf won their home fixture against Goroke Edenhope 103-51.
The home side just overcame the visitors 21-18 in rink one, as Ros Barnett, Stephen Harris and Geoffrey Bald, skippered by Ash Batchelor, defeated Richard Smith, Barry Crick and Trevor Mulraney, skippered by Geoff Lowe.
Horsham Golf’s rink two team of Hayden Tucker, Danny Schmidt and Ken McClelland, skippered by Bradley Robinson, won 46-20 over Goroke Edenhope’s Joel Lowe, Wayne Caldow and Bruce Ackland, skippered by Philip Robinson.
In rink three, Horsham Golf’s Chris Mellor, Heath Miller, Denis Ballinger and skipper Gavin Walter defeated Goroke Edenhope’s John Moloney, Travis Crawford and skipper Hugh Caldow 36-13.
At Coughlin Park, the home team just managed to edge out Dimboola 69-66.
Coughlin Park won rink one 23-19 as the team of Damian Bryan, Leo McKinnon and Peter Beasley, skippered by Craig Decker, defeated Dimboola’s Greg Cook, Wayne Albrecht and Don Connors, skippered by Alan Krahe.
In rink two, Coughlin Park’s Mark Schumann, Allan Thompson, Rowan Hawkins and skipper Michael Ellis overcame Dimboola’s Darryl Argall, Shannon Williams, Darryl Both and skipper Peter O’Loughlin 26-24.
Dimboola took out rink three 23-20 as their team of Judith Albrecht, Robert Pyers and Joshua Cook, skippered by Daniel Danisch, defeated Coughlin Park’s John McDonald, Robert Mewburn and Charles Officer, skippered by Robin Shaw.
At Horsham City, the home team won all three rinks, defeating Kaniva 85-53.
In rink one, the team of Colin Morrell, John Burchell and Bruce Campbell, skippered by Anthony King, defeated Kaniva’s team of Steve Duthie, Timothy Meyer and Adrian Coad, skippered by Christopher La Rocca, 22-19.
Horsham City’s rink two team of William Hogan, Duncan Bottoms, and Graham McDonald, skippered by Ron Dolby, won 31-13 over Paul Pearson, Lorraine Coad, Malcolm Coutts and Jeffrey Meyer.
Rink three saw Douglas Mitchell, John Lehmann, Kevin Smith and skipper Kevin Clyne prove too good for Kaniva’s Darren Maddern, Russell Crouch and Tyler Cooper, skippered by Bruce Dodson, 32-21.
In division two, Dimboola defeated Goroke Edenhope 74-53; Sunnyside was defeated by Horsham Golf 65-63; and Nhill defeated Coughlin Park 81-57.
In division three, Nhill three defeated Kaniva 80-44, Sunnyside outmatched Coughlin Park four 65-45, Horsham Golf defeated Nhill four 84-37, and Coughlin Park three overcame Horsham City 63-56.
