Kelm earned the highest netball honour at the club as she helped lead the team to an improved six wins in the 2025 season.

Asked what it meant to receive the award, Kelm said she was pleased to be named the A grade best and fairest player for the first time.

“Yeah, it’s really good,” Kelm said.

“I haven't actually won it in A grade before so it was really good to finally get there."

The achievement comes in addition to Kelm’s runner-up finish in the Horsham District Football Netball League best and fairest vote count.

Kelm, who typically plays centre, attributed both her individual and team performance this year to an earlier start to the preseason as well as the influence of coach Sharon Fedke.

“I think Shazy's (Sharon Fedke) coaching has definitely helped us a lot more,” Kelm said.

“We also got a couple new girls so it's definitely good to finally get stronger, but I think Sharon’s coaching was the main thing – she was really good.

“This year I definitely feel like I’ve done a lot better and felt a bit fitter in the game.

“The team started preseason earlier than last year, mainly to be fitter, which helped a lot.”

Kelm is keen for the A grade side to improve further in 2026, with the aim of helping Taylors Lake make a finals series.

“I’m definitely staying at Taylors again," Kelm said.

"I haven’t quite finished up.

“I want to try to make a final before I stop, but I wouldn't play anywhere else.

“I've been there my whole life – all my family went there – so I've kind of been born and bred there and I love it.”
