Junior cricketers premiers

Blackheath Dimboola mixed under 14's team are premiers following a thrilling two wicket win over Homers at Dimboola Road Oval on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, they lost Chase Kannar early, but Phoenix Hopper and Hugh Miller both scored 20 a piece and with Henry Walsgott's 12, they were able to post 7/90 off their 20 overs.

Ethan Donnell was the star with the ball for Blackheath Dimboola with 3/4 off his two overs.

In the chase, Blackheath Dimboola were in trouble early losing three quick wickets to be 3/15. Led by Max Spokes, 13, Lenny Clark, 12 and an unbeaten 10 and 17 to Albert Schorback and Charlie Taylor respectively, they were able to chase the total down in the 20th over, finishing at 8/91.

Hugh Miller was the pick of the bowlers for the Homers with 1/2 off his two overs.

The team was captained by Albert Schorback. Schorback scored 250 runs this season which was the second highest in the league, two behind Phoenix Hopper.

Dane Paech was second best for the Bulls with 153 runs. Max Spokes, 149, Lenny Clark, 126, Edward Schorback, 116 and Abbey Williams, 109 all scored triple figures which showed the consistency they had.

Max Spokes was equal third in the bowling with ten wickets, averaging 8.4. Homers Finn Arnel led the league with 12 whilst Horsham Saints Jackson Tuohey was second with 11.

Homers' Chase Kannar and Horsham Saints Hunter Schmidt also finished on 10 wickets.

Dane Paech finished with eight wickets, second for Blackheath Dimboola.
