Irish eyes smile at Horsham
At Horsham on Tuesday, Irish jockey Cian MacRedmond snared a pair of impressive wins.
County Kildare-born MacRedmond, 24, who in recent summers has based himself at Ballarat, warmed up with a third placing in race 3 and a second in race 4 before storming home in races 5 and 8.
Colac trainer Bill Cerchi had two wins of his own, in races 1 and 7, both courtesy of jockey Will Gordon, who picked up a third victory in race 6 on the back of a second and a third earlier in the day.
Gordon's race 6 triumph was aboard Khant Bee from the Grampians Racing stables of Andrew Bobbin.
Surfy Pete, trained by Paul Preusker, finished third just over a length off Khant Bee's winning pace.
Bobbin and Gordon shared third placing with He's On Song in race 4.
In other results by Wimmera locals, Riding Kijivu, Linda Meech was pipped by 0.15 of a length in race 3, the Natimuk Fire Recovery Maiden Plate.
