Interim CEO appointed

Horsham Rural City Council has appointed Craig Niemann as its interim chief executive officer.

Mr Niemann will start on September 30 and work until the newly elected council appoints a permanent CEO to replace Sunil Bhalla, who resigned this month.

Mr Niemann is a former CEO at Greater Bendigo City Council.

“I look forward to bringing that experience to Horsham and working with the council, staff and the community,” Mr Niemann said.

Following confirmation of the appointment at the council meeting on September 16, mayor Robyn Gulline welcomed Mr Niemann to the role.

“Craig is highly experienced and will be an asset to council while he is here," Cr Gulline said.
