Horsham Golf proceed to grand final
Horsham Golf claimed the first grand final spot in the Wimmera Playing Area weekend pennant division one competition by defeating Horsham City in their semi-final clash on Saturday February 14.

In Saturday’s other division one semi-final, Nhill defeated Dimboola.
In the top two matchup between Golf and City, Horsham Golf won all three rinks to win 88-60.
In rink one, Horsham Golf’s Ross Barnett, Stephen Harris, Geoffrey Bald and skipper Ash Batchelor defeated Horsham City’s Douglas Mitchell, John Lehmann, Kevin Smith and skipper Kevin Clyne 33-18.
Horsham Golf’s rink two team of Hayden Tucker, Danny Schmidt and Ken McCelland, skippered by Bradley Robinson, overcame the team of Colin Morrell, John Burchell and Bruce Campbell, skippered by Anthony King, 25-21.
Horsham Golf took out rink three 30-21 as Robert Greiger, Heath Miller, Denis Ballinger and skipper Gavin Walter defeated Horsham City’s team of William Hogan, Duncan Bottoms and Graham McDonald, skippered by Ron Dolby.
At Sunnyside, Nhill managed to clean-sweep all three rinks to defeat Dimboola 80-56.
In rink one, Nhill’s team of Nicholas Robins, Roger Brown and Greg Ryan, skippered by Darren Gebert, defeated Dimboola’s Judith Albrecht, Robert Pyers and Joshua Cook, skippered by Daniel Danisch, 20-18.
Nhill defeated Dimboola 35-14 in rink two as Brad Blackwood, Matthew Morrison, Ryder Byrnes and skipper Kevin Jones outplayed Dimboola’s Darryl Argall, Shannon Williams, Darryl Both and skipper Peter O’Loughlin.
In rink three, Nhill just edged out Dimboola 25-24, as the team of Ray Olney, Barry Cramer and Ivan Reichelt, skippered by Allan King, defeated Greg Cook, Wayne Albrecht and Don Connors, skippered by Alan Krahe.
Following these results, Horsham City will meet Nhill in the preliminary final this Saturday while Dimboola have been eliminated.
In division two semifinals, Nhill qualified for the grand final by defeating Horsham Golf 81-55.
Horsham Golf will now meet Coughlin Park in the preliminary final after they narrowly overcame Sunnyside 71-67.
In division three, Nhill claimed the first grand final spot with a 66-45 victory over Horsham Golf.
The other semi-final was a nailbiter as Sunnyside just won over Coughlin Park 52-50 and will now meet Hosham Golf in the preliminary final.
