Golfers go pink for charity

There will be a sea of pink meandering across the Horsham Golf Club on Monday, April 7, with the annual Pink Lady Day.

The annual fixture raises money for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, Australia's largest cancer research organissation.

Event spokesperson Noela Hair said sh ewas looking forward to a fun day of action on and off the fairways.

"Our annual Pink Golf Day is open to everyone," she said.

"Traditionally, it's been an event for our women's golfers, but we've opened it up to everyone now.

"It's a fun day on the fairway with lots of novelty prizes. You can buy a drive for a gold coin donation and everyone will be given a piece of string to use as a closer putt."

Mrs Hair said no handicap is necessary, with men given a handicap of 36 and women 45.

Entry is $20 per person, which includes a light lunch.

More than 10 raffles prizes are on offer, including two nights accomodatiopn at Kiramli Villas in Halls Gap and two round of golf including cart hire at the Barwon Valley Golf Club in Geelong.
