Easter race meeting set to sizzle
The traditional Easter race meeting with over 70 years of history promises to be as good as ever.
Racegoers have plenty of attractions other than horse racing to entertain themselves, with live music with Matty Chaps, Fashions on the Field, great catering and bar facilities.
The children haven't been forgotten with activities conducted by Kelly Sports as well as face painting and an Easter Egg Hunt.
There is a free bus service commencing from Hopetoun at 11am with pick-ups at Beulah and Brim.
Prior to the running of the Emmett's Warracknabeal Cup, the trophies will be presented to the club officials by the Club Ambassadors Jason and Kirsty Keys who will bring the trophies in a 2006 Bentley arriving down the main straight.
The Bentley is owned by Ross Johns and was purchased from Roslyn Packer (Kerry Packer's wife), and is sky blue and has a 12-cylinder motor and 552hp. Its visit to the Warracknabeal races on Saturday is not its most notable visit as it once appeared at the Elton John Charity Concert in Sydney.
The Racing Club is acknowledging the community work locally and has joined the campaign "Celebrating Our Communities", and is hosting 38 volunteers for a day at the races.
They are members of the Warrack Eagles Football Netball Club, Warracknabeal Action Group and Rural North West Health.
Warracknabeal and Wimmera Racing Club members will receive a free race book and discount bar prices.
Following the last race there is a free bus service into town for any patrons wishing to avail themselves of the service.
