Champions crowned

The Horsham City Bowling Club Men’s 2024-25 Pairs Championships concluded on Friday, March 21, with the winners being Daniel Gloury and Colin Morrell.

Match Committee Chairman Peter Dougherty said that the semi-finals and final were some of the best displays of bowling you would see anywhere.

Skipper Gloury and Morrell defeating Bruce Campbell and Kevin Smith to win the clubs blue ribbon pairs event.

In the semi-finals Gloury and Morrell defeated John Lehmann and Ron Hallam and in the other semi Campbell and Smith defeated Graham McDonald and Doug Mitchell.

Meanwhile, the club's Open Drawn Fours Championship saw skipper Graham McDonald lead Colin Morrell, Wayne Gray and Mervyn Bothe to the title.

After the final over of the 15-end final, the scores were tied at 15 shots all against Kevin Clyne (s), Doug Mitchell, Ron Hallam, and Cheryl McDonald.

With an extra end played, Graham McDonald's team scored one to clinch the title in one of the most exciting games you could ever see.  

Match Committee Chairman Peter Dougherty said that it was a game where both teams deserved to win but you can only have one winner and this time it was Graham McDonald's team.
