Carter awarded best on the ground
Dezi Carter's two goals and ability to set up play, playing on the wing and up forward, earned him best-on-the-ground honours in Horsham's under-17 football premiership.
Carter has had a sensational year, kicking 11 goals and being the best player on 11 occasions, and the icing on the cake was in the biggest game of the year, securing his first premiership with the best on the ground medal.
"It feels good to get the win. They kicked three in a row at one stage and got close, but it was a good game, and I was thrilled we could hold on. Everyone played well," Carter said.
"I'm not too worried about the best on the ground; I am just glad we won. It's a team game, and it's good that we got the job done.
"This year, I improved my game as I got fitter and kept going to training and working on my football."
